I filed for my ead in late september, got an rfe in mid nov, sent papers but see no change in status. how long does it take with an rfe to get ead? my 90 days are nearing and I am afraid with the holiday season coming, that I might not get in time. I have contacted my congressman, ombudsman's office can't do anything yet. what can be done?

None so far. No updates from the Lawyer or any LUD change. My I485 RD is 08/16/07, and NSC has not reached that date as yet. My lawyer's office called and the response was "The request is attached to the file (485)". I called NSC and the IO there DO NOT know the meaning of Interfiling and the IO I got was very rude and in a hurry to finish the call. She said that these officers should not give us (AOS Adjustees) any info, please inform me if any USCIS officer has broken that rulw. I said no one has and finished the call. Now, I am waiting, as have been for last six years for various things on the GC journey, for NSC I485 Processing status to go beyond Aur/16/2007. Once it does, I will call them again.

I will use it surely when I come across a good opportunity. This is a provision provided by USCIS just for the specific purpose of changing jobs, so why do you anticipate any issues with using AC21 with in the guidelines for using it. I would also consult some one (best one will be a lawyer in my view) who has done this and has good knowledge of this to make sure everything is in order. Best of luck and enjoy the little flexibility AC21 provides.

No. I am not an employee of any of the companies named in H1B visa fraud last week. The current employer is my the sponserer of my H1 B visa and also my first employer . I did not change my employer.
This does sound strange, do you know what was the reason for this officer's visit to your employer two months back? also, i would suggest make sure all your paper work is fine, I mean LCA etc. indicating your correct place of work and right wages.

Actually, the numbersusa website makes mention of SA 2143 (John Cornyn) of HR 1585,(currently being debated) which according to them allows for recapture of unused EB visas from 1996 and 1997.
Dont know if it is true or not, they are encouraging their folks to lobby against it.

Mr. Frist said his bill would include several measures already hammered out in negotiations under way in the Senate Judiciary Committee, which had included an increase in the number of border guards, more fencing along the Mexican border and faster deportation of illegal immigrants. But Mr. Frist's bill would not create the temporary worker program that President Bush has urged to legalize the status of the 11 million illegal immigrants thought to be in this country.
"Our country needs security at our borders in order to slow the flow of illegal immigration and make America safer from foreign criminals and terrorists," said Mr. Frist, of Tennessee.
Mr. Frist said he had decided to pre-empt the Judiciary Committee's work to ensure that the Senate meet his goal of holding a vote on immigration the week of March 27. He said the committee's legislation could replace his bill as the starting point for a floor debate if the senators completed their work in time.
The decision put him at odds with Senator Arlen Specter, the Pennsylvania Republican who is chairman of the Judiciary Committee, and highlighted divisions within the Republican Party over immigration.
"I think it is a colossal mistake to take this to the floor," Mr. Specter said early on Thursday. He sounded more conciliatory after meeting with Mr. Frist. Yes... benchmarking is good (in many things as you suggest quality, corruption, infrastructure etc.)... but absolutely not in everything as you suggest, some things just aren't comparable given some micro-economic conditions. Further, doing so would also encourage the mindset of aping the developed countries in every department. Remember the India that we see has gone through hundreds of social and economic cycles over thousands of years. It is not a nation that came to being a few hundred years ago and was a developed country (in current terms) many times in the past.
If one learns history then one also learns not to just take a slice of it for generalization! A holistic view of what happened in the past globally and our current state makes one realize the hidden riches and clear shortcomings in any nation. One need not level out it's hidden riches to clear the shortcomings !
Yes I agree, our history and way of working is also different maybe better/worse, but defenitely way more experience! I don't think I would want to change any thing about family , friend relations and the way we help each other. Even some of the ways we think, has a lot of advantages.

US economy is down and receission is meant to happen every 5 years in US some times to recover and job creation it takes longer if you read the US history and economics you will understand better. This time the open global media made it a big issue, that is about it. When the economy improves and things are better, again your so called glamour comes back. .

I would hate to say this - but was every recovery in the last 2 decades mostly due to a bubble that was created - dot-com, low interest, housing?
There are not many bubbles left to create, and the debt was never this high.
The growth of India should be more compared to Canada, that has a conservative financial system with lot of regulation. AKA no vegas.

Is IV still collecting the list of affected EAD ? I received an RFE, and have provided all the documents, and my 90 day period is coming up soon. Please help. I have contacted my congressman also.

Hi All FP seekers! I do not know what exactly I am missing if there is a delay in FP. It looks like hundreds of IV members are too much worried because of the 'delay' in FP. Let me worry too (by knowing the big problem!). Can any worriers explain??
On the other hand is it not better to have a late FP, so that you need not go again in the next 15 months! Anyway for most people GC is going to take years!
It's the uncertainty of the entire process that kills us...Have seen couple of users whose cases have been erroneoulsy denied since they did not went for their biometrics. Guess what, these users never received any FP notice from USCIS. I tend to partially agree with you; if the PD is no where close to being current, why worry about FP now - it's their responsibility to get us finger printed. But on the other hand, I do not want my case to be erroneously denied because of an error in their processing...
This is just my personal opinion. I am not loosing my sleep over this any more.
