don't forget to file change of address AR11 if you move. People tend to forget this since after getting GC there is very little or no paper work required unlike people who are waiting like me:).

Pappu, what are the anti-immigration websites you talked about? I'm curious and want to see what they are thinking. thanks.

Hope sth will happen in Feb. :)

These are small regulations that agencies can do. But even for such changes, the time period to get it done is very long (several months to a year). At least DOL woke up and acted. It will still leave a door open for sellers to stay happy and able to substitute labor. However it is not easy to find a buyer of a LC in 45 days.
All these are small problems compared to retrogression. Labor substitution rule will not get any visible or any noticeable relief to us. We will continue to stay retrogressed and wait for another 10-15 years for our greencards. It is important for us to contnue to fight to end retrogression by getting a legislative change done. As long as members are there to support IV, the organization will use every means to get relief measures for all of us. The coming months are crucial to our struggle. We need to stay united and continue the effort of making this organization a formidable force on the hill. IV members writing negative comments on various forums or feel disheartened should know that to get even a smallest job done is not easy. They are not only harming the whole effort and making anti immigrants happy, but also harming themselves by hurting this cause. Sometimes it is sad to read such negatve comments when you know how hard it is to work with limited time, resources, manpower and lack of much needed motivation in members.
BTW In our recent efforts we did give anti-immigrants shivers down their spine. It can be seen from their posts on their sites and also the hate mails they write on our forum and send to core members. You dont see a lot of it because we moderate posts. We are not scared of anyone. All this has only made our resolve stronger to fight it out and fix the system.

If it is India EB2, then yes, but I guess once ROW eb3 becomes current, we can see unused visas flowing in from all directions (Just a speculation) and PDss may move afster. But forr now, God knows when the PD will move.

Logiclife, I am sorry you are wrong. You don't need to post hour by hour update, but the update you posted today on Aman's meetings , help people to understand what really IV is doing and are necessary atleast once a fortnight.I am sure you are working in a corporate world and drive projects. The first rule on driving a big project is status meetings once every week. This helps all the stakeholders.
Pls attend our 'meetings' in order to get more information on what we are doing. Join your state chapter and actively participate in those 'meetings'. We called for volunteers last week for the media drive and only 12 members out of thousands of members that saw that message responded. We want to encourage members to actively help us rather than wait for update from us. Each one of us can create an update for the community. Meet your lawmakers and update us. A handful of people cannot do much. It is the collective effort of this organization that will help us get success.

Date and Time of Delivery matters.
All july 2ND FILERS... DOES THE DATE OF FILING(mailing date) MATTERS OR THE DATE OF DELIVERY MATTERS?
I think most cases delivered on July 2nd is filed on June 29th or 30th.

vfs received my passport today i.e., Dec 18th. Dec 6th 1400 hrs was the H1b appointment.
Here's an extract from Mr.Aytes
>>>
PIMS (Petition Information Management System)
Under PIMS, every consul must see information of an I-129 petition on the system before issuing a visa. As background information, we reproduce the following from an advisory on AILA Infonet:
Under PIMS, I-129 petitions requesting consular notification as the procedural benefit are sent to KCC (Kentucky Consular Center) after approval. KCC enters key data from the petition into PIMS and scans in key documents such as I-129 form, employer support letter, and identification documents of beneficiary. KCC also performs some database checks looking for evidence of fraud, violations, or other adverse history and records (including from SEVIS) and records its findings in PIMS. When a post is ready to grant a visa based on a petition (and apparently this includes derivatives), it must confirm the petition in PIMS before issuance. DOS knows that USCIS has not been sending change of status or extension of stay petitions to KCC at all, and we expect that interagency discussions are underway about changing that. We know also that even some consular notification petitions have not been sent to KCC. Any petition not sent to KCC will not show up in PIMS, and there may be other reasons why a petition sent to KCC does not show up in PIMS. When a post does not find a petition in PIMS, it must email to KCC, which unlike posts has direct access to USCIS' CLAIMS3 system where USCIS records petition approvals. KCC will record the fact of the petition approval and any other information it chooses, and when posts check PIMS they can find the information on which visa approval can be based. But until the post sees the petition in PIMS, the visa cannot be granted.
Mr. Aytes acknowledged that PIMS caught consuls by surprise. Every client must be warned of a wait of 2-4 working days before being issued a visa at an overseas consular post. It is likely that an I-129 petition filed as a change or extension of status will result in further delays as USCIS does not send information on those petitions to the KCC.
>>>
My wife attended H4 Visa interview on 6th but we are yet to receive passport. VFS is clueless and Consulate answers 3-4 working days everytime we call them. Is anyone facing this situation?

First of all Congratulations desi#### and thanks for continuing to support IV.
Interesting discussion going on. Yes, I agree that most of us here are waiting for our GC and some of them go on to become US Citizens.
I believe that becoming a citizen of any country is a person's choice, so let us not give desi### a hard time here.:o
But I certainly do not think it is an 'achievement' to get a US citizenship, just because it implies indirectly it is an 'achievement' to let go off Indian citizenship. Nothing meant to offend you desi#### but it hurts when one reads such a statement somewhere deep inside the mind. But hey, as I said earlier, to each his own and noone should be judging others in their decisions.
And it is not only Indians becoming US citizens every year. There are others too.
Personally, even with all the advantages as stated above of being a US citizen, I will never let go of my Indian passport. Even if the authorities give it to me tomorrow in a lottery;) Never.
Why? Because my identity, my rich heritage, my family roots, my parents, my culture everything is Indian and am proud of it. There are lot of sentimental and emotional attachments. I was going through the OCI articles today after reading this discussion.
It is not exactly a dual citizenship. Some clauses are no voting rights! No Indian Passport!
Getting a GC is another thing, but when I decide to go back after a couple of years, I would definitely want to retain my voting rights. ! I rest my case.
I totally understand the emotional point of someone being want to be a Indian Citizen but I have to stress there is no other country in the world like U.S.A. This is the country where every human being is treated with utmost respect (don't try to show me exceptions - U.S. is a country where most of things are close to being perfect imaginatively), have freedom to say anything they want without getting intimidated and U.S is a country I believe will be the last bastion for humanity when terrosists/fundamentalists spread their tentancles and take over the world by force or other means (if not now probabbly in the next 100-150 years). Hypocrisy is relatively less. We Indians live in a dream world nurtured by the Indian politicians, who try to inject doses of patriotic non-sense into the masses while they themselves stove away million of dollars in Swiss banks. 70% of Indian population lives below poverty line and the educated masses of India think that their country will become a super power by 2020. Politicians like Mayawati play caste politics and dream of taking the top most post while our liberal media, without a wee-bit of shame, extends its highest support for them. Corruption is part of our daily life and we are part of the everyday corruption but we still find no fault in our society. Our population growth is beyond control while not a single politician is concerned about the stress it is going to create on our natural resources in the future. Our education system is in shambles but our great politicians fight for increasing the reservation system to different castes just for the sake of garnering more votes. And the list goes on. AlasGod help India.
FYI: I am a Indian and haven't even started my greencard process, for the same emotional reasons you mentioned, intending to R2I soon. Given a choice and circumstances, I would have opted for U.S.C as "I have no hope for this world neither do I wish for it" - quoting Bhagawan Krishna from Bhagavad Gita.

Folks,
This my copyright and very much pertain to our situation:
*********************
I left my world in search of prosperity
The prosperity is taking an eternity
My struggle is long and daunting
Making it more and more frustrating
Life at times seems uncontrollable
Flowing with the time unstoppable
Graying hairs testify for the feeling
Fat belly making me further unappealing
Sometimes I think of going back
Try to gather the courage that I lack
But the world I left is not the same any more.
And the world I am in, has lost its lure.
I am on the crossroad of my life
One is forward, one is left and other is right.
I dont like the choices shown
May be I would have to create a world of my own
***************
Thanks
Good one, Thats what we are now .:)

It indeed is nonsense. You give money where you cant get any benefit.
Oh well, I guess that is OK.Then they trash you saying you have not paid.
Then they say, you have not paid so get out.
Fun stuff ?
Why do people spread the false propaganda that H1Bs do not pay taxes? This is utter nonsense.

The donations that we make to IV will be part of the general corpus which will be used for lobbying. As one core member pointed out 99% of that fund is utilized for lobbying, I am guessing remaining 1% is spent on hosting IV website.

If we do not get this problem resovled who will ? All the members in this forum please start taking active part in determining your future your families future and your kids futures.. please do not be short sighted or procrastinate. Take Action NOW, we can do this, please encourage one more person to join in and contribute, talk to other people who are not aware of our plight and educate them, contact your local lawmakers, be active on the forums, support the core members and each others, come on now guys.. may be all of us cant do every thing but try some things at some of the times and some other things some other times :) -- does that make sense .. I wish I was very rich I would have made a HUGE donation to IV to fight for their cause... I really respect the core members for their tenacity, dedication and inner strength to carry on this effort.. admist so much uncertainity and so many obstacles .. and the best part is .. most of the people who will benifit from it dont want to do much about it ..... ok .. I am exhausted now.... Logic Life .. how do you do it .. keep churning out .. one passionate and well thought out post after another .. I like your posts... they motivate me .. keep up the good work .. IV has a lot of die hard supporters.... -- in the words of Dubya 'Lets Stay The Course' :)

That is correct, 9 months and then I will return to my country for good.
I am waiting for the day when we get the GC , we will tear it into pieces and throw in front of consulate.
Cheers
It is not easy to tear apart a Green card - u need a sharp instrument - and be careful because u may hurt urself if u do it with the levels of frustration :) :)

I think that is what they will do in order not to look like fools.
the question is, What happens to those july filers whose applications have not been returned yet and who will become current in the next bulletin.
Will USCIS ask them for the new fees.... Will they have to do all paperwork again including medicals.....what a mess!
It will be even interesting for cases that are not returned but will not be current in next bulletin. Your medical reports are valid for one year.
