I think analysts and investors coined this word :-) If there is going to be price pressure, further rupee strengthening and visa restrictions, these are most probably the ones that will remain in the market. Indian IT service industry is in the verge of major consolidation. Weak players will be gone and only companies which offer wide range of services and maturity will sustain. (per some analysts)

Hi Guys,
After a long journey of more than Sixteen years in this country, I finally received my GC.
In short, I came in 1993 on J-1 for my training which took six years, followed by one year on O-1 visa and then J-1 waiver for three and half years in underserved area. Then applied for labor certification in Oct, 2003 EB2, through university, which was approved and then retrogressed. Applied Schedule IIA, approved but also got retrogressed. Got AILA liaison and Senetor involved.
Applied for EB1 and NIW in July 2008.
My lawyer was very much involved in the whole process, was very helpful at every step, and wrote letters to USCIS.
Finally, GC came in April, 2009 and received the cards one week later. My PD Oct 2003.
During these time, I actually had no problmes at my job or my my wife's job. Brought a house four years ago.
The main problems were:
Daughter and son could not apply to state colleges/ medical colleges. (daughter going to med school next month)
Got stuck in India for renew of H-1 for 2 months!!! (worst time of my life, with my wife and kids in US) I tied every thing from writing letters to calling Ambasador. Not effective.
Could not go to certain occasions, like death of very close family members, weddings etc.
However, I kept my cool and prayed and got lot of support from Immigration voice.
As a small token of appreciation, I am donating $500 .(and will keep on supporting)
We all are going to get GC, some sooner some later. Just keep on doing you job.

How about if IV publishes his brief story( off course with his permission), congratulating him on IV behalf, in all national news paper ( with or w.o his name ) Date of entry, profession, long time wait- reasons and all opportunities he may have missed, couldn't buy house, collage-tution probelms etc and all struggles he has his family might have faced. point by point.
Money would come from special campaign. NY TIMES, USA TODAY, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Miami Herald etc. News paper industry is struggling so won't cost much to buy a half/quarter page with a title - " An untold story of legal immigration" Or similar kind of eye catching title. Not more than 10-12 lines stating thousands others are waiting in line...
There won't be difficult to get more his kind of cases to run it on regular basis in future.

i work in a big software corp and never heard of any queries at all?
approved 140, file 485, wait for 180 days, change jobs, no queries at all (irrespective of whether you change jobs or not)

Have they mentioned it on their website? Usually DMVs like CT etc.. mention on website that they need a Employment verification letter, as a matter of fact, they don't even accept paystubs they just want employment verification letter.
Folks - my advice is : Please do not argue with the department. Ask them to post their new requirement on their website so that you don't go there and get disappointed.
one doenst have to argue but can definitely question why its not there on their website if its not htere..they just cant decide one fine morning to just start as king for stuff...

Ok disclaimer first. I do work directly with employer and not a consultant.
I think there is an ongoing debate over it whether consultant companies should be allowed for H1b's and green cards or not. Let me be very honest. There are so many US employers who do not want to get into mess of H1b's but still want talent. These desi or videsi consultant firms feed on them and people like you and me searching for jobs. It is generated out of necessity on both ends.
There are some very very big consulting firms too and not to Mom and Pop Desi shops.
I feel for both sides and the real problem is to have multiple H1's and H1b's sitting on bench which is even worst. So either they hire and pay and make their responsibility to find job or don't file for H1b's

I am bumping up this discussion.
1. After quick scan of PMBOK3, I am unable to find "software project" specific management processes in PMBOK. (except few words here and there).
2. Few months back, I talk to an Architect who has run through PMBOK. He rates it is closer to junk.
3. Today, I talked to non PMP "software project" manager. he says PMP is off in most of the areas in SP and not needed.
Or am I missing some thing?
Please note: I am not looking for generic management here( I am a MBA thank you ). I am not against reading PMBOK. All I want to know is the relationship between “software project” and PMP and the practical advantage of PMP certificaiton in day2day work.

I have question i'm planning to use ac21 ,but my current labor certification jon title code is 15-1031 (computer sepcialist engineer -Oracle) but my new job is DBA (application development -Oracle ) But the nature of the job responsibilites are same but i believe the Job code may change b'cos of the Title.
Do you think will this be a problem if i use AC21.
Your inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Why do you think I should go for a new H1? I can always call my wife on a visitor visa. She can stay on a visitor visa in US for 1 year continuously. So why bother for an H4?

She may not get a visitor's visa. Visitor's visa requires non-immigration intent, just like F-1. In your case, there is a very clear intent to immigrate, which may disqualify her from getting a visitor's visa.

I just called USCIS today and the officer told me that they haven't scheduled our biometrics yet since they are overwhelmed with the applications. She said I should wait till next year.
Also inquired about my name check and she said that they've started it and it's still pending...
Only option is to wait it out as always...
