Looks like I need to take up a priests job somewhere and file another GC in E4 category which is current. God willing, I might get GC soon.
I remember a few "shlokas" from Gita... that should suffice. I wish they allowed interfiling from EB3 to EB4.

Again, including her name on your I-485 application would not help her to "get into the queue". You need to file another I-485 for her and you can only do that if she is physically present in the US. (you need the I-94 card). You could have the court marriage in July and bring her here on an H4 or other visa, and then file for her I-485 as well.
I am in a similar boat as you, except my ritualistic wedding would be in Aug and I am banking on the hope that the dates would still remain current for August.

I guess all I am trying to understand is I know 100% that I will be married before I file, would that help her in anyway, lets say if the dates retrogress in August and she cannot file till then.

I am not working in permanent job. I am also in consulting job. I am not supporting the restrictions. I am giving comments. Some comments were not liked by some IV members and they are suspecting that I am anti immigrant from alipac or numbersusa. But I strongly suspect Indian bodyshoppers and consulting companies used big portion of H1bs, and that might be reason for those restrictions. Till 3 months before everything was going well and all of IV provisions were there in the skil bill and strive. But suddenly Durbin bill was introduced and just a few weeks back they sent a notice to Top most Indian companies about H1b. Whatever reply Indian companies give may create more trouble.So something went terriably wrong in past 3 months. Not even one pro legal immigrant amendment in Senate. I am not seeing anyone working seriously except IV. Immigration lawyers are more bothered about point system and family based immigration system.
I understand your views and sentiments but you should be outraged too at the CIRcus bill...

Yes US Post Doc (without US MS or PhD) might not qualify under SKIL. But on the other had, a post doc might have enough publications and such under his/her belt to try to go for EB1.

Post doc is a position not a US educational qualification and hence not a benefitiary of SKIL bill. The SKIL bill included US Master's and Ph.D's.
With your US MS you should not have any problem. Would require 3 years work experience to allow one to self adjust. We will need to wait and see what happens when it is introduced again in the new congress.

No offense to the OP and Thanks for posting this, but this thread is kind of diverting us from some of the efforts currently in progress, we are again playing the prediction game.
Lets contribute to the FOIA funding drive and get the right information.

Seriously, folks. What's with this thread? Total waste of time.
Someone announces his 'greatest achievement' ... others challenge him to show true patriotism... yet others ask him to continue supporting India etc., AND this chap actually responds :)!
Wow! Seriously we all have too much time on our hands to be self promoting / congratulating / reminiscing etc...
Glad that this person will call US Senators etc., lets thank him for that and keep moving... instead of grilling him on things that matter to you! He owes you all no explanations or apologies.

How many core IV members have already received their GCs besides Aman, just curious?
Of late is there anything of note even happening on the lobbying front? IV seems to have become another Immigration Portal kinda website where people are now posting all sorts of info, some of it not even immigration related.
It would be nice if someone in the core team updated the rest of us, who cannot join the state chapters due to personal reasons on the website.

Personally, I wouldn't consider it obligatory to answer a specific question by someone who cannot volunteer due to "Personal Reason", whatever that may mean. If you cannot volunteer, cannot participate in IV's action items, cannot contribute, then you are most welcome to use IV's portal to get answers to your questions or get other kind of information - but do not expect updates from anyone as your right!
IV is not a top-down organization and if you think that it is becoming like Immigration Portal then partially it is due to people like you who do not want to participate but just want 'updates'.

Indian real estate market is fueled by the black money india. They are using NRIs as a facade. Investing in realestate legitimizes that money. Now they don't care how much rent they are getting. It makes no business sense at all. You and me cannot comepete with them.

I am in eb3 row, have a job waiting for me in the usa, but i am in england,
Have a PD of june 06, am terrified that my job offer will be withdrawn if i dont make some progress soon. Have had job offer for 1 year this week.
My soliciter has written to nvc to try and shed some light. but im not expecting much joy.
But from the posts, i have read in this thread, do i detect a glimmer of hope for my situation.?
Could EB3 row become current soon.??
It is just so unjust that i have to wait the length of time that i have, its not so bad if you are already out there, and just changing your status, but for some one in my position trying to perminently relocate, job waiting for them, no family, just me, clean as a whisle and not able to do anything because you are stuck in the same que as everyone else is just a nightmare. I have had my life on hold for a little under 2 years for this. And im only 24.
Im starting to wonder just how much longer i can wait. Life has to go on you know. Im loosing some of the best years of my life to stand in a fucking que, for something that may never happen. It is almost enough to make you think about becoming and illegal.

Well, you did not give your easy example, nothing about affirmative action, nothing about representation or overwhelmed by Indian and Chinese thing, and absolutely nothing about preferential treatment. And while you "hinted" that we are all equals, you did not say - if we are all equals, then why should there be PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT for one group of people over others, unless someone is still practicing APARTHEID. Last time I checked, practicing apartheid is a crime in US and it can land you in jail, not sure if you knew that.
And while you continue to apply for your green card, you are still charging "India" for that because as per you, your country of charge-ability is India, right? While I myself dont care about the dots, and seeing that the discussion started off, at least in part, about unscrupulous distribution of dots, I find it very ironic that I am getting insulting words thrown at me. Either these people cant understand irony, or they really are just learned "angootha-chap", or they are addicted to red-doting people (pretty much bringing the prophecy of the original poster true).

If the congress makes changes to the rule, then people will have to live with it (fair or otherwise)... by the way, most rules are not made to be fair to everyone. But the thing is such action will have a negative impact on ROW, and it is a pity that many ROW dont realize it. They seem to blindly following IVs call of action. There is some saying about blind faith that escapes me at the moment, but the bottom line is that blind faith is a dangerous thing.

Today 10/16/2007 there is another update. Why is USCIS looking at my old H1B approved in August 2003 for an employer I left in 2004? I am perplexed!
Again today there is an LUD (10/15/2007) on the below quoted H1B petition. What is going? The status remains approval notice sent, however.
