we do collaborate closely with compete america on these issues.
we also requested everyone to get letters from their employers for administrative fixes...perhaps you missed that. we have also constantly encouraged everyone to present these issues to their employers and get support for immigration reform. at least one major corporation's employees in immigration voice have successfully lobbied their employer to become active and help bring immigration reform. the given corporation has been a strong voice and a great asset to us since then.
so you see my friend, it's really up to you. core team or iv leaders can't do this. you can. it's a good idea. go ahead now and walk the talk! hopefully we will see your employer "abc" (that's it, right Harivinder?) speaking up for us soon.

Even in India some of the southern states dont like speaking in Hindi. In India, it is all about showing off, if your kid is here in US (as a slave on H1 B), Badi garv ki bat hai in India, dollar mein paisa banara hai na, isliye. The trend is more in AP (by the way i am from AP), where almost every family has one or more living and earning in phorein currency. As long as the native country cannot produce jobs for all (without reservations) and a decent standard of living, people will steal, lie, deceive, kill to come here to the US, and i guess they don't mind waiting for 20 yrs living as bounded slave, after all it is better here than the slum's isn't it ?

Infact, I got good news today. My MTR approved after 3 months. My 485 was denied due to withdrawal of I140 by previous employer (AC21 case).
So I had applied MTR and approved today. Looks like USCIS understood the error and approving all MTR (I didn't hear a single MTR rejection on AC21 case )

The CIR includes increases in legal immigration. If the dems take the house, then the house alongwith the already pro-immigrant senate will pass big increases in immigration (family and eb). If i was a republican, i would try to pass CIR after the november elections and before the new congress in January, when he party still has some control. If the dems solve the immigration issue in the next congress when they have the reins, the hispanic vote will heavily tilt democratic for a long time to come.

The link says all the majors considered as STEM. If you choose Browse by STEM discipline - those are the STEM disciplines..
Read carefully. It states that those are the occupations that might require a degree from those STEM Disciplines. For e.g. If you see under Life Sciences, it states that Farmers might require a degree in Life Sciences.

Congrads. I have the same question. why so long? are there still people with 04 PD out there waiting? Why is it that we are seeing "card recieved" posts very rarely these days? Have they slowed issuing GC to those with PD current?

Once happened to be my friend with the same PD as mine, got his GC just January.
well he changed the day he got his GC and started ignoring me.. well I don't care as well, they hardly even exists for us...
But this is right some got their GC out of the way just like that. and this is first hand information. No cousins and no neighbors...
One of my friends neighbours Aunt who lives in Australia has a cousin in South Africa
This cousin's sister's uncles' kids' friend got his GC last month, his PD was 2007. He was in EB3.
I have heard quite a few cases like that,
like other day I was at Safeway and the counter lady told me that her friend's cousin's son just got the whole process completed in 2 months and that too in EB3.
I can only say it is just unbelivable that these things still happen in this world. USCIS is just full of bums, we should definitely do some campaign about it.
But then ignorance is bliss :D

I thought this would be the most appropriate place to post.
I am on my 3rd year of H1-B (non-technical field), just moved to a new company and was going to start my process toward getting a gc in the next month or so. Now, with all of this, I am very confused.
Do you folks think that it is most appropriate to sit tight and wait to see what happens? or to just go for it now?
I'd appreciate your input, as I have to make a decision soon.
If your employer is sponsoring your GC (LC and I140 by spending their money) then go for it.
