I bet there are tons of fine print to be qualified as "Illegal", I keep hearing " people who CAME (entered) ILLEGALLY before jan 2007..." , so " legal to ILLEGAL conversion " will not qualify i think.

Congratulations!!!
Dear IV folks,
After a long long 7 years I finally received my Green Card y'day.
If not anything... this process does forcefully teach patience, hope, anger mgnt & gives a new understanding of terms UNFAIR & UNJUST.
My app did experience all the delays ..Backlog centers, company change, date portability, NameCheck..
For expediting Namecheck & Serv. ticket I had written/fax/calls to almost everyone in govt. White House, First Lady, DHS Dir, TSC Dir, USCIS Dir, Senator...
Not sure if anything worked, but finally 180 day rule might have helped.
Finally ...it's a great sense of relief.
I was desperately needing it now as I wanted MBA loan & change of field etc.
Special thanks to pappu,logiclife,berkeleybee,Googler ...you guys are the lighthouses in this long tempest.
It's amazing that someone whom you don't know & have never met, inspire & guide so many others.
All the very best to everyone & I hope everyone gets their GC in a FAIR order - FIFO -.

If he fires you since you are Z-class, then you are eligible to sue the employer for 1 mil $$. These are the amendments that will be passed along with this stuppp...d CIR.
GO ILLEGALLLL is the message for everyone. By the way, dont forget to get your parents / sisters / grand father / etc just few days before this law passes. Throw the passport away and let them claim that they are here for the past few years.

WOW --Right from relationship between coutries tot he pros and cons of war planes we are discussing here.We have people with nice political knowledge per se Ministers and Kings who can analyze how just 11 billion (bully)dollar deal can affect the Green card processing and we have Generals and colonels who knows which fghter plane is good for which country.
But still we are able to manage only around 200 for the advocasy event and large amount of donataions which barely met the expenses. what a pity ;)

I am in the same boat. Tho my GC has not been approved yet, I can only suggest that think twice before taking this important decision. If you go ahead and marry right now be prepared for a lot of stress, mental agony, coping with distance etc. I personally feel that this is not the best way to start a married life. I think it would be best to disclose everything to your future wife and her family and go ahead and marry once you have made arrangements that she can visit you on B1/H1/L1 etc or you have made plans to go visit India or be in a third country etc. Good luck and again my advice is not to rush into the marriage at this stage. Take your time and make a final decision after considering all angles.

There is an unpublished appeals office decision supporting the 3+2 equivalency to a US masters. It appears that some adjudicator do not necessarily follow the AAO decision however an attorney told me that if the case goes back to the AAO office then the AAO follows their own decisions. As far as I know the cases I am familiar with all were approved at some point (or are pending) when the AAO case was sited.
As far as the 3 year bachelor degree equivalence to a US bachelor degree there are notes from an AILA liaison meeting where USCIS stating: "Credential evaluations that provide a details comparison of credit hours completed by the beneficiary for the 3 year bachelor's degree program with credit hour required by comparable U.S. bachelor's degree program." Exactly what is meant by this is not clear. However, one might say that this indicates that they are at least open to accepting the 3 year equivalency to a bachelors degree.
Our experience is mixed. We have had many approvals when showing the 3 year degree equivalent to a US bachelor degree and we have had denials. In examining the differences it appears that when the attorney makes a strong case in addition to the evaluation the rate of approvals is higher. We don't have exact statistics since many clients do not report back.
There are some cases where 10+2+3+2 got approved in EB2. But lately CIS has been interpreting the BS requirement to read single source degree. Combination of degrees to equate to the bachelors is not allowed for EB2 purpose.

I think he knows that you won't have the gut to expose him since this will also put you in an awkward situation since you paid for your labor and I-140 which, strictly speaking, is against the immigration law.

amitjoey, Thanks. I have sent a request to my senator yesterday and also mailed them all the copies of the documents. Just hoping that will also help. I was told that my file is already assigned to an IO and you will soon hear from USCIS. "Soon" in USCIS dictionary seems to be 30 to 45 days and thats very scary s that means it will about 130 days. I am just hoping they will approve soon. After approving it seems they are taking additonal 30 days to print the card.
