I gets very severe migraine attack almost everyday thinking about the GC !! I took so many pain killers(acetameno) almost everyday ..now they also stopped working on me...and due to these apin killers ..I became acidic ..acidity everyday..even without eating spicy things...my wife says, probably my lever damaged ..don't like to visit doctors ...will it get worse ? I can't escape visiting IV everyday !! Any remedy for me will be highly appreciated....

here is a tip for next time, never threaten and intimidate other people and think that just because they r immigrants they r weak. law protects us all equally, and anytime u threaten, when i am around, just make sure it will have a negative affect....

The pace by which the Climate change and health plan bills are moving is pretty impressive, they should tackle that within a reasonable period of time, i have a strong feeling that CIR might be taken up this year, as all the dirt has been worked out in 2007, its just a question of political will, and with the hispanic vote swing that changed the face of the elections, the GOP might just swing the other way, you never know

Its probably part of an investigation of your employer. Maybe they finally decided that it wasn't necessary to interview you. But probably best to get back to that guy all the same; talk to ICE directly too.

A lot many can empathize with you. But if you are looking for relief - you ought to take responsibility for how you feel. You already understand the forces of nature - you will get your GC when it's your time. If anything your needless frustration and forceful attempts are only interfering with the energies that have made your PD current.
Just relax - get some exercise, eat well and participate in things that lift your soul.

I didn't care much for Visa bulletin until it became current for EB2 two weeks back. As the time progress, I am doing all sorts of things, like checking USCIS case status, and checking everything that can possibly give me some information. I know that it is waste of time, I know it is not good for health, I know that I will get GC when time comes, but still, my mind is tricking me to think about it. I checked all these forums until 2A.M last night. I am not having enough sleep. I am waiting for a opportunity to get rid of my desi employer. I am really getting frustrated (I am not saying that I have been waiting for GC approval desperately). I just want to share my frustration and what I have been going through. I know I am in a better position than most of other people whose priority date is not even current. I wish they never dangled a carrot in front of me. I am not sure if they disappoint me next month, but I am still keeping my hopes. Hopefully, I would get over this and have enough sleep from today.

filing of MTR does not give you status, once they accept it, yes you are in status again.
yes. You are basically keeping USCIS updated with the information of an emplpoyer who is willing to hire you once you get your GC.
How long does it usually take USCIS to accept the MTR. I am assuming if it's less than 6 months then we don't have to worry about being out of status?

It did not affect my life too much and it should not as I got my GC within 7 years of my coming to the US, while a lot of my borthers who have been to the US longer than I are still waiting. - How did immigrationvoice help you during this long wait?

Well coming from a person who had to wait relatively less time for GC, this might seem shallow, but I have followed one simple principle in life, perserverence. Also I have planned ahead for the next step before one reaches the finish line as it keeps you motivated to reach higher, become better. So let GC be the goal but not let it stop you from enjoying life.
First step after GC, go to SSN office and get your Social Security card renewed to the one which does not have the line "INS authorization required to work. ANd if you follow Murthy wait at least 6 months before leaving your GC sponsoring employer.
Once anyone received his greencard, please update the IV tracker too. We like to see how many members in IV are greencard holders and what is the current trend of approvals in our membership

not "most"!! only few have a wait of 3-4 years, most have a wait of over a decade....the numbers of applications pending at AOS stage at USCIS is scaryLook at the number of people who posted messages to this thread .... even if you say 4 times that number of people posted messages to WhiteHouse.gov it is no where close to the numbers we need .... Lets not kid ourselves - Unless there is a miracle - most of us are looking at aleast another 3-4 year wait :(

OK guys, here is what I think. Being in US on a visitor visa, and then applying for an I-485 does seem like a violation of visa terms, but the other way round seem to be fine. I mean she can apply for an I-485 first in India, and then apply for a visitor visa later while her I-485 application is pending. While applying for a visitor visa she just has to honestly tell the consulate officer that her I-485 is pending and there should be no problems.
If she applies for I-485, she has *beyond a shadow of doubt" expressed immigration intent. Her visitor visa request will immediately be rejected.
If this is not so, then it means that all those who have filed I-485 in their home countries through consular processing route are in effect barred from entering US till some decision is taken on their application. This sounds bizarre. Does not make sense. What do you say?

If moderators feel it is against the forum guidelines they can delete my posts or threads and I am fine with this. This is called discipline and respect for system and authority. We are using someone's property when we post on this forum. We do not own it.

we can argue both ways, democratic party was not rejected because of the economic mess, even today lot of voters are angry at bush for the mess, the issue here is WH is completely out of touch with the main street, why spend 2 years on health care when ppl dont have jobs to afford basic necessities, the less we talk about stimulus the better, ppl dont like someone who don't listen and arrogantly say what ever they do is for the good without showing any progress (hmmm, reminds me of bush but hell dint we vote for change?) or say voters are ignorant,
bush is not the whole problem, democrats are in the majority since 2006 and look at the deficits since then, wars costed US trillion dollars which is less than annual deficits under the current president, i agree he does not own the deficit problem completely but he dint help to fix it either, bush dint sign "glass-seagall" act which caused the whole mess in the first place, clinton was the one who pushed the initiative "housing to minorities" and his administration wanted to push it through freddie and fannie and the rest is history,
point is demonizing one of the parties is not going to help, both contributed to the mess and neither of them has bigger share

On a second note, it is easy to sit in any position and criticize the president (this applies to bush too) however, what this president is doing is far better in the long run for this country (if we decide to stay) than any other potential candidates.....
Also saw your wish of Obama loosing in 2012 - assuming he ran and his opponent will either be Sarah Palin or Newt Gingrich - just thinking of it gives me shivers! chills! cold! cough! and high fever! (if not more) I urge you to think twice before you wish for something.
This is all politics....lets forget that....everyone in this forum are in the same boat and the fact is for our issues we need both houses of congress and parties to support - so lets work on it.
