TB skin test is not mandotory.
I would recommend that you wife gets following tests done and have results ready when you go and see doctor on 15th.
1) Blood test for HIV and RPR(syphilis)
2) Chest XRay
3) Vaccination - MMR, DT(Tetanus booster) and Varicella
if you take the results of tests and proof of vaccination on the day of visit then the medical report can be given same day.
I also recommend that you download form I-693 and I-693A , make few copies, fill up the information like name, A number, date of birth etc and have it ready for the physician to complete the rest of stuff. Make sure you don't sign the form until your doctor signs it. Also don't forget to ask for a copy of the completed for before he seals it.

Arent you concerned that if its approved on Oct 1, and you didnt get it, then where is it? Did you ask them as to why you havent gotten it in mail even though it has been approved a month ago? Also, did you check with your lawyer if he got anything?
It was approved on 10/1*/2007 not exactly on 10/1/2007. I was concerned and I asked her. What she told me is that once case is approved it generally takes around one week to get that mail out from mailroom and once it is out of mail room then generally it takes 2 weeks to get the mail for you. So calculating that I thought I should get that within a day or two. ANd another thing she told me is that once mail is out from USCIS mailroom then USCIS does not have any control or tracking mechanism so I do not have any choice other than waiting for mail...And yes I have just shooted an email to my lawyer. The bill goes no where after the hearings unless there are enough co-sponsors and CHC members are ok with the bills. Then the house speaker will decide to let the bills be debated and voted on the house floor. If it goes through House then Senate will vote on it and then the Prez signs it off.
So the most important thing is to participate in the phone campaign esp the one targeting CHC members.

yea this is correct. a member named united nations posted a detailed break down on immigration portal a few months back. This has been implemented by the DOS by suspending the AC21 rule of a variable cap and enforcing a hard cap of 7%. This was mentioned in the november or december 2005 bulletin.
From my perspective I think its a travesty that when the UCIS and the DOL has classified some of us as "exceptional" aliens, we can still not adjust our status because we were born in India or China while Mexicans with the same qualifications can. If the country limit is to avoid monopolization of numbers and enhance diversity...all categories for Mexico should be "U"

"During FY due to anticipated heavy demand, the AC21 provisions are not expected to apply, and the amount of Employment numbers available to any single country will be subject to the 7% cap."
Well, now I realized it is not DOS but again its me who was not upto date with the trend. This means that India cannot go beyond its 7% using unused visas. In the same bulletin there is something that indicated that it allocated too many visas to India in the past. Most likely DOS does not take any action until ROW eb3, eb2 and eb1 are current. Now I have also understood why the perm is necessary at the this time for row. Perm helps row move faster thatway in the loooooong run helping India when all the row is current.
There will not be any spillover to any India categories in the near future. This is the reason why India eb2 went unavailable. EB1 will soon follow the case. Eventhough eb3 moves, it was like unavailable for a long time. 1400 greencards a year in each category (excluding spouses from this ordeal) is hardly enough for India. I doubt there would be any encouraging direction in future as India had consumed too many visas in the past years. This is sort of balancing act as far as DOS is concerned. Only a change of heart can save India.
This is really bad for India as most of the people applied for 485 after spending nearly many years in BEC (that itself a retrogression). With Philly clearing non-rir 2001 eb2 labors, can't wait to see october's eb2 retrogression dates.
I wouldn't care about where the overflow/spillover goes as it is not for India.
Atlast, the email from murthy.com about eb2 visas going unavailable did not surprise me. My parents named me right and I am an enlightened person now.

Hi all,
Mine is a different situation, i was with my employer till mid of last year and did not inform him while leaving his company and joined another job (h1 transfer) he is now saying that the vendor did not pay him some money and i have to pay that amount and he is demanding that amount for my W-2.
He also said that he would take legal action if i didnot pay his losses ( i did not sign any document with him other than my h1b papers) no agreements,
I am going to call IRS after feb15, but is he going to go to court?
Please suggest me.

speak to a lawyer and stop responding to people on this thread!! everyone pontificates. all the people who are screaming from their rooftops here about ethics etc., would readily accept an offer of reusing a previously unused LC if their employer gave them the option.
just my 2 cents.

I wouldnt have posed this Q but by looking at what you said, it appears that you support labor substitution as long as both the employer and employee can hush up the money involved and leave no proof.
On the flip side, there are so many people who wouldnt take a substituted labor. Please do not generalize.

Why is everyone blaming just the Chinese University for trying to circumvent the immigration system? It says 95% of the students were from Andhra Pradesh. If the hosung markets turned down like the NASDAQ 5 yrs ago, and brought down the whole economy with it, then as a result of the ensuing economic recession you lost one, two or all 3 of your jobs and ended up in negative equity, could not find a new job sponsoring H1b due to the deep recession and your greencard is nowhere in the near future. Would you still feel as secure and happy? I am not sure what country you are from, but would you make a salary close to what you are making here?

I think, if you currently have a H1 job, you have proved your worthiness in the job market. In fact, you are probably better off than a GC holder, since you are forced to be on your toes to maintain and update your skill set for fear of the difficulty in finding another H1 job.
I have plenty of (EB) GC friends around me who got their GCs through their job through the 1996-2000 .com boom, but now have trouble finding their 1st right job, post the GC. They missed out on the 2002-2005 housing boom, all the time while I, on a H1 was reaping the fruits of taking the risk and getting in while still waiting out on my GC.
Besides, in a global economy US jobs themselves are far less secure than during any other times in modern day history, so even a US citizenship is not going to make one feel secure with regards to employment.
What is going to make you feel secure ultimately is being well qualified & well skilled. For people with the right qualifications and skills there will always be a H1 job (or for that matter a well paid job no matter what the geography) out there. In my opinion, having the right skills and qualifications is one's security, and that�s what I have always banked on while moving so forward on a H1.
