Those are good points. We are not all Indian or Chinese on this website and in my case I moved to the US because of insecurity in my country (got kidnapped twice). If I went back there I could have a top job with a top company (and have had many offers) but that is not a place where I'd like to raise a family.
Before the US I almost moved to China, but then I got the US job offer. I now have the Canada option, but I wouldn't mind moving to India. I have lots of Indian friends and I think Indians are easily one of the very nicest people in the world while being smart too (not conceited), plus they speak English. (Nothing against China, but it would take me at least 3 years to learns OK Chinese)

I think, your best bet would be Canada....I don't know your nationality, but Indian immigration laws are tough...work visas are not easy to get...
Montreal is a great city! Very European and multi cultural...you can't avoid French influence, but you don't have to know French to survive...there are some great companies in Montreal...

Things like legislative changes take time. We may think that the debate on illegal immigration has nothing to do with our issues but the corrupt Senators will always try to sneak in some reform related to illegal immigrants into our bills in exchange for their votes, ultimately derailing the entire bill.

Are they going to approve cases which was filed during July 2007 with 2006 or 2007 priority dates, if they fall under namecheck issue.

as far as i know, you cannot avoid that scenario of the employer withdrawing I-140. You can speak to them, but there is no way you can guarantee what they do. Your boss may agree but ur corp lawyers or HR may have different ideas.
just make sure u document everything including ur ac21 request to uscis. mayke sure u have an attorney on record who will file ur ac21...if u want to be supersafe.
as long as u have the documentation and correct letters from your company, even if they have a rfe on ur case, u can provide documentation...if they issue a noid or deny ur petition, ur lawyer can help u file a mtr (motion to reopen/reconsider) and resolve it for u.
i am not speaking from personal experience but from what i have been reading on the forums for a few years now.
on the plus side u will have hundred if not thousands of ppl invoking ac21 in the next few days...so uscis will be well aware of the law, clauses, etc when it comes time to adjudicate urs.

I got LUDs on 2/10 on both mine and my wife's 485. My wife got an RFE email on 02/13. I do not know what this means either...
Looks like lot of EB-3 applications who filed 485 at the end of june got LUDs last week, some with RFE and some just soft LUD.

Below are similar bills that were introduced last year (pulled from the opencongress webiste). These bills didnt go anywhere. They just ended as "referred to judiciary commitee" or "refered to subcomittee on immigration". How will this bill be different from these bills? I got a feeling nothing will happen in the end, not even a vote in the senate. I hope I'm wrong.

But why do u have to care about whether IV endorses this or not. If you think this is a great idea, go ahead and send the flowers urself.
I know alot of my friends, who do not care or know about IV, but have got the email chain and sent flowers on their own

It'll be nice if the core endorsed it. We members do contribute and participate in all campaigns when core asks. It'll be great if the core lets the ideas bubble up from members too! That'll make it a two way street.

Lou Dobbs does not care about legal high skilled immigrants he no longer refers to H1bs as H1bs but rather as "cheap foreign labor". His wife is Mexican-American but he does not hesistate to attack Mexico and any vulnerable immigrant group, for that, he makes over $6m a year for his rhetoric, he has even gone as far as being linked to hate groups and supremacist organizations. Media matters is an organization that exposes Lou Dobbs' lies, next time Lou Dobbs or Fox (the channel) attacks legal high skilled immigrants and does so using falsehoods, it would not be out of order for IV members to contact Media Matters and set out the truth.

I have a pet dog in my home country that I love. I want to bring the dog to USA to live with me. Is it possble for IV to add this additional point in the letter campaign. 'All I485 filers and CP filers should be allowed to bring their pets and pets should also be allocated greencards to live here permanently.' Afterall we consider them part of our family and family values and unification is very important for EB immigrants as well.

- How has greencard changed your life after receiving it?
GC arrival does change the life little bit. My frequent anxiety regarding various renewals like EAD, AP, H1/H4 vanished along with the tons of documentation that I have to do for those. I was struck to my current job during this process and continued the same way even after GC, but I am about change that soon. GC now provides me the ability to compete with others in the open market and provide me the confidence.
- What did you do on the day you received it?
I just went to the Temple and thank God for finally receiving it during my life time!
- How did the long wait upset your life?
More than me, it upsets my wife a lot. This does take a toll on her as she is confined to home and occasional voluntary services. She is now vigorously pursuing for a job in this down market and finding it difficult to compete with others, who have recent US job experience.
- How did immigrationvoice help you during this long wait?
IV helped to be better informed about various processes, procedures. This also helped me to deal with the attorneys directly by-passing the paralegals, who have little knowledge and to get the attorney�s much needed attention to my cases.
- Would you like to continue your support to immigration voice and help others waiting?
Yes. I do visit the forum from time to time and provide my experience and get updated with the changing rules, regulations and the visa status.
- Any advice for everyone?
As we are the people in no man�s land, I would suggest every one to be united to support the noble and good cause to revamp this system. I was driven away by the infighting and bickering and do not understand what benefits that is going to provide. Though I understand the pain, frustration and agony for the uncertain wait for this process, I would like to remind everyone that this is the time where we may need to be more united and welcome others instead of fighting among ourselves.
Once anyone received his greencard, please update the IV tracker too. We like to see how many members in IV are greencard holders and what is the current trend of approvals in our membership

That will be a big issue. You do have to show that I-485 has been pending for 180 days before you changed jobs.

that was a very interesting read. Another scary part is that it took USCIS 6 months to revoke teh I-140 from the time it was requested. Meaning when he actually left his employer, if he had called up USCIS to verify the status of his I-140, it would have come up as still-valid.

We sent an email to CISOmbudsman.Publicaffairs@dhs.gov and they gave the update, even though the online status didn't update for more than a week.
The Ombudsman office gave a response with in one business day.
Found out from the Senator's office that my case has been approved. Attorney was able to call and confirm. No change in online status though.
E-filed on May 5th
