vxg...I disagree with your statement that "stamp...can be forged'. Anything can be forged (e.g. passport, money). If the I-551 is legit what do you have to be afraid of?

What is stated came from my lawyer and a friend of mine ran into trouble in India where immigration folks gave him hard time and did not believe the stamp when he was returning. At US entry point you will be OK with stamp however you need approval notice as local office will not stamp passport without you having the notice.

The hotel I stayed was Shalimar, bit expensive about Rs 7000 a day. The hotel is really good with complimentary breakfast buffet. The consulate is walkable distance from the hotel. VFS also offers some facilities, please check with them.
I did not have to pay addition fee because the new fee came in to effect later. I paid the equivalent of $131 for each applicant!

My company applied 485 and h1b. I am in AOS status and having EAD. My company laid off me on March and they are not revoke my h1b and 140(they may hire me back once get new job). Mean time shall i work hourly job and get around $1200 per month with same job description with using my EAD(new company will run payroll and W2). Also i am keep looking permanent full time job with my higher salary.
For the hourly job they asking to fill I-9(employment eligibility verification will inform USCIS). On that form asking my A# with EAD expiration date.
Is there a chance USCIS will know my hourly job?. My concern - this hourly job will create a problem for my GC process (chance to get REF) because rate is low

I need some URGENT HELP here. My I-485 was denied and so has been MTR filed by my attorney. To give you a quick background of my case:
I-140 approved in 2007
I-1485 in August 2007
Received RFE in May 2009. The RFE had two parts to it that are as follows:
Part 1: Request for Evidence for Birth
Part 2: When I filed the application, the following question was left unanswered by mistake:Have you ever, in or outside United States been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, fined or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance, excluding traffic violations
When i sent the response, i included birth certificates for wife and I but somehow both my attorney and I did not notice that we failed to answer the question - the second part of the RFE. Because of which my I-485 case got denied.
Within 3 days of receving the denial notice, I , through my attorney filed a MTR that included a signed declaration that I have never been arrested. Today I received an email update from USCIS that my MTR has been denied. I will know more once I get the reasons for denial.
What are my options here? Is there a way this case can be fixed and brought back on track or am I in a no-go situation? Please advise on the next steps.

How can people file a complaint against attorney who makes such a mistake. I have heard you can do it in state Bar.
But please explain the process, pros and cons. And if this really works. A detailed response will be appreciated to help people like one above who paid money to a lawyer thinking he will work professionaly and diligently on the case. However increasingly I find careless attorney cases on the forum.
I want to also know what you think about this and how one should complain.

According to your post, according to the agreement between you and company A, you need to pay $2 per hour until the project ends. Why did you stop paying after 4 months of his cut. I guess the project is still going rt. So Company A wants to make sure that project ended. Company A is right. If your project is still going, you need to pay him $2 per hour until it ends.

Your EB2 PD is more than 2 years from EB3 PD. So, it may not make as much difference at the end considering the volume of PERM filings after March 05. So do what you think might be safer as dates may severely retrogressed in future and even cut-off date moment till 2005 wouldn't be any time soon and you wouldn't want to get I485 rejected due to problems in I140.
Also, I am not sure if you can have more than I485s pending at the same time i.e., when you do not withdraw EB3 I485. Check with your attorney.

You can't maintain H-1B status while physically residing in India. But, you can still have your GC process running.
An absence won't be of any consequence as long as the visa is valid and you are employed by the same employer.

Hi scubadude. Everyone is giving great advice. Honestly I would stay away from photoshop for now and concentrate on getting the best image you can make when you press the shutter. That will save you a lot of time over the long run. We all struggle at this but if you train yourself to do these steps you'll be waaaay ahead of the game:
1. "See" the picture you want before you take it
Let's take this pic for example and for sake of argument your goal is to make a portrait/headshot.
Armed with that information you can make the following decisions:
a. I need to blur that background so I need a wide aperture, better switch to aperture priority and crank it up.
b. humans need catchlights in their eyes so i better use some fill flash (you do have your flash mounted all the time right? lol)
c. hmmm even though she's got a heart of gold and a great smile she gets rather stern looking when i stick this big camera in her face so I have a choice. I can hang out and get a couple of candids when her guard is down, or I can talk to her and get her feeling comfortable about what i'm doing and how she looks.
d. these dang digital slr's are sooooo unforgiving to these poor ladies that i'll bump up my exposure compensation +1/3 to +2/3 to give her a brighter, "cleaner" look.
e. ok now remember to get the focus point on those eyes and get the eyes above the centerline.
got it? one more quick scan.......looks ok. click.
I know it sounds like a lot but with practice and taking lots of pictures and participating in places like dphoto you'll be able to do that kind of drill in the blink of an eye.
