I tried to recruit 3 guys with 7-8 yrs of experience. We already have a 12 member offshore team...the average asking rate (H1s and citizens) is 90K ..H1B quota restriction is working in our favor very much. Market rate for IT professionals has increased quite handsomely..put ur resume out to dice or monster and see for urselves.
this 90k is in which part of the US? A salary number without specifying geography is pretty hard to rate :)

I've sent in slightly modified letters(personalised) from myself and separately from my wife to both the Whitehouse and to IV.
I found the best way to modify the well written template is to just put a small personal introduction at the top. Who you are, what you do and perhaps that you are waiting patiently for X years.
If you have renewed your EAD multiple times, it might be worth mentioning that as well.

I think Meera Shankar needs to be fired. Its bloody 2010 and this is the kind of customer service the indian consulates provide - they dont pick up calls - it takes them a month to issue new passports - Always feel ashamed to be an indian any time I have to deal with these useless consulates.

My lawyer is asking 350 for EAD and 500 for AP for each person excluding filing fees.Is it normal.or Can I go to another lawyer for EAD and AP who is cheaper than my company lawyer.
Thats a lot of money for EAD & AP. The law firm might be charging 2 grand for your 485 and another grand for your spouse's 485. You dont need a lawyer for filing EAD & AP. You can file them youself along with the 485 application or after getting a receipt number from USCIS for your 485 application. Ask your law firm to prepare 485 for you and your spouse and return the application packet to you. You can sign it off, add your EAD & AP applications and send it to NSC. I supsect they would be willing to do so. By not giving them they would be forcing you to file EAD & AP through them, given that the fees for everything is going up from next month.

It looks like NC was completed. "Requirement review" means that they are trying to determine whether your marriage is still valid after all these years... Do not take it close to your heart, I found out that the USCIS letters are not very credible.

Tired of waiting ( PD: August 2001) I finally wrote to both my local congressman and Senator today. My senator is on senate Immigration commitee so lets see what happens. Hopefully something will move.
If this doesnt help I will try Ombudsman next after couple of months. The Ombudsman form has a question of if you have tried through Congressman etc first so we can try and see that.
Guys its so funny when you see ppl with PD of 2003 and 2005 complaining and bitching. Here we have waited 7 + yrs our PD's are current and we are doing OK. Wait sure brings maturity :)

I have my TX license till 06-2013. With the new rules, I heard that DMV's in Dallas are issuing vertical cards which has an expiration date of EAD/H1b expiry date. I recently moved to a new apartment. When i try to change the address online it is asking me to go the nearest DMV. I dont want to loose my current license which has expiry till 2013. Is it OK if i dont change my new address on my drivers license or is there a way to get my new card with the old expiration date. my current EAD expires on 10/2009.

1. Did you opened any SR in TSC around 10/14 or 10/15, We have a group of people who had the same problem in TSC during those days. all the letters replied by the same agent.
2. Find out from attorney if he charges any fee for this. If so please don't go with him.

You has incorrect infomation. Your Receive Date is a factor but PD is also a big factor, if limited number available.
If two person has submitted their application. One has PD 2001 and RD June 10 2007 and other had PD Jan 2006 with RD May 1 2006.
USCIS 485 Processing Date: June 15th 2007 and Visa Bullitin has "C"
Still PD with 2001 will get the the number first before PD 2006 case.
So
485 RD < USCIS 485 Processing date and PD < Visa Bulletin date
Order by PD desc

hey Dhundhun and everybody else.... thanks for ur precious advice. This forum is really helpful for people like me who do not have much experience with US rules.
Dhundhun, to answer your question...no I do not intend to break the contract. I just want to protect myself from any mishap in future. By the way as I mentioned earlier, the contract is not of 12 months....its for ENDLESS time. It says that if I leave the company anytime...I will need to refund all the training costs that the company would of incurred in last 12 months.
